Rodney Long, LPC, LAC

Rodney received his Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Sociology from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. Later in life he went back to school and earned his Master’s degree from the University of Nebraska at Kearney, concentrating his focus on Community Counseling and Co-Occurring disorders. He remains a loyal Cornhusker football fan to this day. Rodney has a passion for helping others find freedom from the bonds of substance disorders and healthy ways to cope with mental health difficulties. His goal is always to find the best fit for each client and uses a wide variety of approaches, including Mindfulness, CBT, and DBT during therapy. Rodney has worked in the recovery field for over 8 years in different settings, such as; in-patient transitional living, out-patient, private practice, and as the primary therapist for Routt County Drug Court. He believes group therapy is an essential component to helping people realize they are not alone in recovery, relearn social skills without substances, and receive a wide variety of feedback from different perspectives. Rodney has lived in the mountains of Colorado for over 15 years and enjoys skiing, snowboarding, fly fishing, mountain biking, and paddle boarding down the Colorado River.
